I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and was raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas. If you are from there Arkansas, you know there is a difference. I spent a little bit of time in Minneapolis, Minnesota but I am a true Arkansan at heart. After finding out that I was expecting during my junior of college, I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to be with my then boyfriend. My dream of becoming a DEA Agent was put on hold and I dived headfirst into becoming a stay-at-home wife and mom. After a mission trip to Lima, Peru, I realized that not only had lost who I was as a person, but I couldn’t hold a conversation about myself anymore and that’s when I went on a journey to finding out who Kiara is. After being a stay at home mom for almost 3 years I became a Girl Scout Troop Leader, got a part time job, started mingling in social circles, became a leader in bible study fellowship and the list goes on.

 

During this time, I began meeting bloggers and mommy bloggers in the area and I thought “wow! I could do that my life is kind of interesting” (well I think that is) here I am. I decided to start The Banana Moon because I wanted to write something that was bigger than myself and I wanted to give my readers an authentic and  real version of me. My husband and I still live in Raleigh, North Carolina with our son Miles, who is now 5 years old.
