Field Day - A new way to explore the Triangle for kids

Moving to Raleigh over 8 years ago was probably one of the biggest things I have ever done and while it was the best decision for myself and Miles, I was so nervous. As he got older, I struggled with finding things for him to do. I would google: “things to do for small kids near me” and while this was helpful, it would have been nice to have an app that was specifically dedicated to children and what their interests were.

I recently found out about a new app that launched in the Triangle called Field Day. Field Day is a place to help individuals find parent-approved activities in our community. Their mission is to inspire kids to try new things. They hand-select local activities that are vetted by parents, and you can explore activities from sports and camps to arts and crafts. Field Day caters to all interests and all ages.

Field Day is a platform to help small businesses reach people who want to try new activities. Currently, activity seekers can manually search and register for activities like pottery, cooking classes, and more. They have an automated booking process with streamlined technology from discovery and scheduling to pay and attend. This means their activities partners can focus on what they do best: making their activity a success.

I had the opportunity to explore the Field Day app and visit one of their partners. The partner I visited was Master Chang’s Martial Arts. Their programs have a strong focus on personal development. The foundations of their morals, values, and core character traits are formed in their early years. For this reason, the programs at Master Chang’s Martial Arts are an essential way to enhance the growth and personal development of young students of all ages.

I was so excited that Miles had the opportunity to experience Martial Arts. I do not think that he would have been introduced to the class without the Field Day app. I loved meeting Master Cris and the other Master’s but the most important thing to me was how the Martial Arts center felt like a home and they treated everyone like family. My experience with Master Chang’s was amazing and I look forward to exploring more classes through the Field Day app.

Below you will find the evolving list of partners of the Field Day app:

The Field Day app allows for easy registration. As we all know kids come with a lot of paperwork – waivers, allergy info, caretaker info, and more – Field Day has created a centralized safe home for this information, so parents only have to do it once. The app has fast payments as well so instead of entering your card info into each new website, they have designed the app with all the ways you love to quickly pay, including Apple Pay!

I was sold on the platform when I heard that they focus to reach local parents and how they have activity variety. Some activity providers offer one-off classes, others host week-long overnight camps. The app makes space for all activity types, even birthday parties. Field Day is such an amazing app and I am so happy that we have the opportunity to be the first to experience it right here in the Triangle.
