Day 1, Day 2, Day 3......6 years, Happy Anniversary!

I can’t believe that it’s been 6 years of marriage and 7 years of Terrance and I being together. We honestly can’t take credit for any it. This year we both went to individual therapy and decided to get back into couple’s therapy. Instead of a traditional blog post, I thought that it would be fun and beneficial for Terrance and I answer some Anniversary questions. Be right back, I need to grab Terrance because he is playing the game......

I’m back! Below you will find 5 questions that Terrance and I went over regarding our marriage:

1. What has been a high point in our relationship this year?

Kiara: I think a high point of our relationship this year has been our communication. We have taken great strides in this area. We both had some type of wall up and we slowly let them down, which has made intimacy better too

Terrance: Really seeing you (Kiara) grow and have your own space to do what you love.

2. Biggest Challenge you have overcome this year?

Kiara: I use to be very closed off with my feelings because I was afraid that they wouldn’t be accepted. But this year I have been very open with my thoughts, emotions, and opinions in a healthy way it has helped me so much

Terrance: Understanding the appropriate balance between work and family

3. When was a time you felt deeply connected with me?

Kiara: I love it when Terrance and I are just hanging out on the couch and not doing anything. I also feel deeply connected to him when we have the same opinions and thoughts on things; it makes me feel like we are a team

Terrance: I would have to say, during your launch party, I was very proud of you; it was such a pleasure watching you launch off and grow

4. When do you feel most loved?

Kiara: I feel the most loved when Terrance kisses me on my forehead

Terrance: When you are cleaning my ears!

5. Where do you want to be a year from today?

Kiara: A year from now I want to be laughing that I made Terrance do a 6-year anniversary blog post with me and planning a vow renewal. No, but seriously, it is my hope that everything that happens in 2020 as it pertains to our marriage will be God-centered and apart of God's will, that our love will be deeper and continuously growing

Terrance: I would like to have a better understanding of what makes you (Kiara) happy

I am completely grateful for my husband the man that he is and it continuously growing to be.

Marriage is hard and we must work constantly every day, but it is worth it.

Happy Anniversary, Dr. Ruth looking forward to spending the rest of my life with you.
