Vibrant coral and blue paint embellish the Shell Cove residence in Holden Beach, NC, just an hour's drive from Wilmington. This modern and private home creates a sense of a secluded sanctuary, with easy beach access, making it an ideal vacation spot for families. It was the perfect place to celebrate our son Miles' 10th Birthday with his close friends. Here is what it offers:

Before my visit, I had never heard of Holden Beach, but my family and I were excited to discover all that it had in store. Nestled on the southern coast of North Carolina, Holden Beach is a hidden gem situated between vibrant Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and the historic Wilmington, North Carolina. The community enjoys activities such as fishing, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, and surfing. Holden Beach is known for its distinct "sea biscuits".
Since we visited the island during the "off-season," some places were closed, but we still had the chance to enjoy meals at some incredible spots for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Here are a few of our favorites.
We went for a short adventure and checked out Bridgeview Park. It includes a basketball court (converts into a pickle ball court), a park, and a sheltered picnic table area. Moreover, there's a small library with books for both children and adults.
